StepManiaX Generation 5 Pressure Sensor Shim (4 Pack)

These shims for the 5th Generation StepManiaX stage sensors work by slightly raising the sensor up closer to the foot pad.  This will make the sensors more sensitive for people that want to make your pads as sensitive as possible without false triggers.  Some people put tape under these sensors to bring them up a bit, but I felt the need to make a more professional and fully removable option.  These can also be stacked for more extreme sensitivity.  This pack of 4 shims is enough to do all 4 sensor on one pad, but you may not need them on every sensor.  

This is available as a physical product or a free downloadable file below that you can use a 3D printer to create.

Installation Instructions:

Step 1: Put machine into service mode and open the Hardware -> Diagnostics Menu.  Select the pad you are currently working on so you can see the individual sensor data.

Step 2: Remove the cover from the pad you would like to install these on.

Step 3: Identify the sensor that is having trouble activating and remove the rubber corner from both sides of the sensor and rotate out of the way.

Step 4: Move the sensor out of the way.  Depending on when your game was made, this sensor could be taped down, so be careful when pulling it up as not to damage it.

Step 5: Lay down the 3D printed spacer in the original sensor location.

Step 6: Place sensor on top of the new 3D printed shim.  You will notice that the shim only has 2 notches in the sides as opposed to the 4 notches in the sensor.  This is so once the installation is complete, you can easily and visually tell which sensor have spacers under them or not.

Step 7: Reinstall the rubber corner pieces.  This spacer was designed to slightly lift the corners of these rubber spacers, but not the center.

Step 8: Reinstall your top pad cover and test!
